Bio: Alison graduated from a high school in New Hampshire, then got her undergraduate degree in Chemistry with an Environmental Science minor. She pursued a graduate degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Utah, receiving her Masters in 2014. She was accepted to the Ph.D. program at Utah but felt the added degree would not be beneficial to her career plans. "There is no reason dyslexia should hold anyone back from pursuing the highest possible level of education if that's what they want to do," says Alison. She and her husband live in Salt Lake City where she is a Process Development Engineer at Myriad Genetics. Alison shares that between Camperdown and her parents, she was "never given a reason to doubt my own intelligence, even though I process language a bit differently than other people." |
